AAMIR KHAN
Paycheck: Rs 0.68 billion and Rs 0.24 billion per endorsement
Does he deserve it? Aamir is a little choosy when it comes to picking his roles; but his sensible choices are always successful. This Bollywood perfectionist may do one movie a year, but he will make sure it is a blockbuster. Deserving? That would be an understatement. Aamir is in a class of his own when it comes to delivering sure-fire hits.

SHAH RUKH KHAN
Paycheck: Rs 0.46-0.60 billion
Does he deserve it? Shah Rukh charged a nominal Rs 0.60 billion for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and almost the same for ‘Chennai Express.’ Even though he languishes behind the top three earners, his audience appeal got a huge boost with ‘Chennai Express’ a hit thanks to his puling power. Shah Rukh has admitted to raising his charges (some might say over charging) for endorsements and stage shows so he could under-charge movie producers as he owes them his stardom.

SALMAN KHAN
Paycheck: Rs 0.86 billion and Rs 0.17 billion per endorsement plus 33 per cent of a film’s profit sharing.
Does he deserve it? Bollywood’s hottest bachelor currently tops the list when it comes to the industry’s highest paid actors. For ‘Ek The Tiger’ last year, he charged the huge sum of Rs 0.86 billion and the film set a new record breaking benchmark too. It is Salman’s star power that attracts the audience to the theatres. No one doubts his magnetic ability to bring in paying punters to the cinema, he single handedly sets cash registers ringing (even if the movie is lacks a credible plot). He also has a trademark, non-conformist dance style.

RANBIR KAPOOR
Paycheck: Rs 0.26 billion
Does he deserve it? Ranbir is amongst the hottest actors in the industry today; one of the few with more hits than misses on his CV. 2013 has been a great year for the star with ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’s’ stellar success. Despite the dismal ‘Besharam,’ with his proven track record, he deserves every bit he demands!

SAIF ALI KHAN
Paycheck: Rs 0.30 billion for ‘Race’ 2 plus 25 per cent profit sharing.
Does he deserve it? Five years ago, Saif Ali Khan was out of the picture, but his downward trajectory changed course with ‘Love Aaj Kal;’ his pairing with Deepika is loved by the audience (’Race 2’ and ‘Cocktail’). After a few box-office successes, Saif hiked his price from Rs 0.22 billion in the year 2010 to Rs 0.30 billion this year. Saif’s movies might not be based around brilliant concepts but they never fail to entertain audiences.

AJAY DEVGN
Paycheck: Rs 0.34-0.40 billion plus co-production of his movies.
Does she deserve it? They Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty combination has always worked wonderfully; both ‘Bol Bachchan’ and ‘Singham’ took this partnership straight to the top of the box-office takings. Ajay prefers to call the shots when it comes to co-producing the movies he acts in and is equally active in marketing strategies. With all the comedy, action and entertainment, Ajay deserves that fat pay cheque.
