inspired By Mother Nature purses

STYLEinspired By Mother Nature
American designer Ms. Kathleen Dustin has created an extraordinary collection of purses – disguised to look like real flowers, stones and even a cactus. The bold accessories, sell for as much as 1000 pounds and look like the real thing.

STYLEMade from clay, the exotic looking flowers and grasses, stones and seed pods all cleverly open to reveal space to keep your belongings. Ms Dustin, 58, said the purses are designed for women who are confident about their style. 'Most people are amazed at them. She said.
"They are for the woman who is very confident in her own personal style because they make a very strong statement."
Ms Dustin, from New Hampshire in America, said she had drawn her inspiration from observations made throughout her life.
STYLEShe explained: "The imagery of my work comes from taking a deep look at my life, responding to it, and expressing it so that it strikes a chord in someone else too, encouraging them to pay attention." The designer hoped her functional purses would encourage people to engage more with nature.
She said: "I've been paying attention to elements in the woods such as seed pods, buds, moss, grasses, leaves, sticks and stones.
"My hope is that it causes someone to pay attention to a tiny seed pod or to the feeling of grass under ones feet, to pay attention to the small mundane things in one's life. "These purses are functional; you are supposed to touch them, caress them and examine them." Ms Dustin only makes 200 of the limited edition purses a year-each is painstakingly handmade by the designer.
Using coloured Polymer clay Ms Dustin sculpts the extraordinary designs before baking them in an oven.
She said. "When finished they are flexible and lightweight so they can be banged around and are quite functional. "My idea is for someone to use a purse from time to time for special events and then display it when not in use."
Ms Dustin's designs, which are all unique, range from £200 to £1000. •

Be An Autumn Beauty

Be An Autumn Beauty
Be An Autumn BeautyTurn over a new leaf and update your make-up bag with autumn's key colours
Changing your entire wardrobe for the new season can be a daunting and expensive prospect. But overhauling your make-up routine doesn't have to be so drastic and needn't cost the earth. A gradual shift from nudes and pales to dusky and dramatic can have the effect of transforming your appearance with a simple slick of lipstick or swift sweep of eyeshade. This autumn, the mood is one of Gothic elegance, all dark eyes or lips teamed with pale skin – choose your favourite feature and amp up the drama. When it comes to party time, feel free to go even wilder with full-throttle fashion looks. It's officially time to evolve into a beautiful new season!
Line Up
Eyeliner has never been out of fashion, but architectural dramatic sweeps are big news for autumn. Catwalk looks experimented with cute kitten flicks, soft smudged edges and bold sharp spikes as a means of creating different impressions. Smoky eyes were achieved using multiple levels of black for a winged out graphic, feline effect.
Go back to basics and pencil on thick lines along the lower and upper lash lines with a liquid eyeliner, butBe An Autumn Beautyalways remember to flatter your eye shape.
Glossy Glamour
Forget matte and give your pout a new-season twist with a high-gloss look. It's grown-up, decadent and deliciously bold teamed with on-trend dark berry colours.
You don't have to invest in a new gloss colour. Try a deep burgundy or claret lipstick and add a layer of thick, clear gloss to instantly transform your lips. You should look as though you've just polished off a delicious bowl of cherries.
Bleach Babe
Ditch the dark eyebrow pencil for this futuristic trend. Eyebrows have gone pale and interesting.
No drastic tweezer or bleach-bottle action is required. Brows can be paled down with a pencil that blends the hairs so they almost fade into your skin tone. Removing your eyebrows like this takes away one of your face's key features, moving the emphasis on to others like cheekbones, lips or eyes for addedBe An Autumn Beautydrama.
Purple Power
A quick perusal of seasonal shades is highly recommended, eye-popping purple is the standout colour.
Lips, eyes and nails, there's no feature escaping this purple reign. For an accessible look, use purple to update a classic smoky eye. It's a colour that complements all complexions, and is especially wearable with a hint of metallic for evening glamour.
From vibrant violet to sultry amethyst, there's a shade of purple for everyone.
Luxe Beauty
Baroque decadence is a key trend for new-season fashion, and the look extends to faces. Get a gilt-edged glow, golden eyelids or try a gold-leaf lacquer on nails to look uber-expensive. Chanel even used heavily embellished crystal eyebrows on the catwalk. To go extra-subtle, use a hint of gold as a highlighter on your cupid's bow to give your lips a touch of luxe.
If you're opting for the lavish look, keep your skin fresh and modern, and hair chic and simple.
Wacky Curls
Aren't poker straight locks so passé? Soft curls are every diva's hottest rage. Read on to knowSoft Curls In Just 8 Stepshow to ace the look
Soft Curls In Just 8 Steps:
1. Wash and brush your hair thoroughly. Scraggily scrunch your hair when it's wet for that beachy, wavy look.
2. Divide your tresses into upper, middle and lower layers.
3. Take the lower layer closer to your neckline and make a few thick strands. The size of the section influences the crispness of the curl. Spray volumising serum on every strand individually. Avoid using styling products like hair spray or gels, they make your hair hard and droopy instead of the lively,
natural ones.
4. Use a straightening iron near the tip of one strand and roll the iron inwards or outwards. Do not spray hair products while ironing your hair, it could burn your tresses. Complete the rest of the sections similarly.
5. Continue the same procedure in the middle layer with slightly thinner hair strands.
6. Follow the same procedure with the upper layer. Use the help of a tail comb to separate every strand, possibly one inch wide. This section takes longer because you need to 'tease' your layers for volume.
7. For teasing hair, firmly hold up the strand with one hand, gently brush against it. Make sure to keep a distance of approximately five inches from the scalp. Make sure that you create tangles, that offer resistance. Keep on repeating the brushing, till you have attained the desired volume. After this, apply serum on the teased section. Let it down gently and finally curl your locks.
8. Brush hair from middle downwards with your fingers to soften the curls.

0 work make-up mistakes
10 work make-up mistakesApplying make-up for work has its own rules that differ from evening or outing make-up. When it comes to work beauty remedies, less is more! Here are some beauty and make-up mistakes that you should avoid when it comes to work:

1. Super-long nails: Nails need to be short, neat, groomed and lightly painted in neutral shades. Don't re-apply nail polish while at work, having to constantly do that means that it was not being put on properly in the first place.
2. Constantly re-applying make-up at your desk: The image of a lady employee who keeps on powdering her face and using lipstick every now and then is not professional. If you need to fix your make-up, use the privacy of the lady's room.
3. Not wearing enough make-up or going bare-faced to work: You should look your best at work. Just like you won't show up in your 'home' clothes, the same applies to your face. Applying a little concealer, powder and light lipstick would be sufficient. If you didn't have the time in the morning, take with you your make-up pouch and do it in the ladies room when
you reach.
4. Wearing too much mascara: Nothing looks bad on the eyes like flaking mascara caused by applying layer over layer on your eyelashes. Make sure to clean off yesterday's mascara before going to bed, and10 work make-up mistakesapplying a new fresh layer in the morning.
5. Wearing glitter: When choosing eye shadow and powder for work, stay away from all that shimmers, sparkles, or frosts. Keep that for your night out as these look great only in the evening and in the dark.
6. Heavy eyeliner: When sitting up close in a meeting with your clients or colleagues, heavy black eyeliner might be a bit distracting. Besides, it has the ability to smudge after long hours of work. Keep it simple, and thin!
7. Bright lipstick and dark lip liner: This is a general rule actually whether you are at work or not. Don't apply super bright lipstick surrounded by a dark lip liner colour. It just doesn't look good!
8. Too much bronzing and self-tanning products: Stay away from using a lot of bronzing and tanning products as you don't want to turn up orange
for work!
9. Lipstick on the teeth: When applying lipstick, make sure it's a thin layer on the outside so that it won't smudge on your teeth.
10. Too much perfume: There is nothing worse than being stuck in an office with a woman wearing too much perfume. It is not convenient for your colleagues, and less is definitely more in this case!
Weird & wonderful
Let's have a look at bizarre cosmetics and beauty treatments coming soon
Eyeliner and lip appliquésEyeliner and lip appliqués
One of the trickiest looks to achieve is the winged cat-eye. If you struggle with the precision and steady hand required to achieve it, eyeliner appliqués may be your saviours. Easy to stick on and remove, they come in embellished variants – in colours and crystals. For those who'd love to experiment with their pout, look out for lip appliqués (also known as temporary lip tattoos or transfers) in crazy designs – polka dots, animal print, glitter, checkered, even the Union Jack, seen on international celebrities Jessie J, Kelly Rowland, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.
Bleached brows
They may have started popping up at resort and summer fashion shows (Gucci, Bottega Veneta) a few seasons ago, but the 2013 catwalks proved that barely there peroxide-treated eyebrows aren't fading out. For those who don't want to make their brows invisible, take on this trend are coloured brows – in orange (Prada), pink and blue. All you have to do is find a mascara in the right shade and use it over your browsCrooked and gap teethinstead of the lashes.
Crooked and gap teeth
That perfect set of pearly whites is no longer the end goal in high fashion. Women are actually paying cosmetic dentists to get the gap between their front teeth widened to look like supermodels Lindsey Wixson, or singer Madonna. Another rage is paying dentists to get the crooked teeth look artificially by affixing plastic fronts to their real teeth. Both trends have one thing in common beside contrived imperfection – a fixation with youth.
The bagel head
It's currently a rage among Japan's set of extreme body-modifiers and unusual fashion followers. The bagel head is a temporary treatment that uses a saline injection to give the impression of a bagel under the skin of a person's forehead. The dramatic results of the two-hour treatment last just 16-24 hours, after which the saline is absorbed by the body and the forehead comes back to normal. The technique was reportedly pioneered by Canadian photographer Jerome Abramovitch, who started saline infusions conference called Modcon way back in 1999.
Beauty secrets that work wonders
Beauty secrets that work wonders• The professional blow dry is one of the best-kept secrets. If the hair is taken care of, the whole look falls into place pretty easily. Make the blow dry last longer by using dry shampoo, dry texturising spray, and wrapping the hair in a towel instead of a shower cap after a bath.
• Smart women don't wash their hair every day. They know that working with slightly dirty hair
is a great way to add volume.
• As for make-up, highlighter used
on top of the cheekbones gives the unbelievable glow that you often see on women on the
red carpet and magazine covers.
• Knot-free, flash eyelashes can work wonders too. Applying
a few to the outer corners of the eyes is easy. You hardly need any other make-up
after that.
• On a rushed day, a BB cream comes in handy. They even out
your skin effortlessly and are mistake-proof.
• Cream-based cosmetics make make-up look more luxe, glow, lived-in and gorgeous.

I AM TO OLD FOR....?

Is there a beauty trend age limit? Absolutely not. With a few clever tweaks, you can make every make-up look work at any age
Big brows

Big brows
Eyebrows thin and fade with age, so a heavier brow, is not only bang on-trend, but one of the fastest ways to take years off your face. Don’t go too thick or too thin. You want them to look natural, not overly plucked or bushy, so they frame your face perfectly. If your brows are a little on the sparse side, arm yourself with a good brow pencil and a brow shadow to cheat your way to gorgeous-looking arches. A brow pencil is essential. It’s designed to be hard and go on softly, so your brows look natural. Use light, feathering strokes to fill in any sparse areas. If parts of your brow are missing, use an angled brush to fill in bald patches with a brow powder one shade lighter than your natural brow colour, and always brush through with a brow brush or toothbrush to disperse. Don’t be tempted to go too dark, or use an eyeliner pencil on your brows – the soft formulation will deposit too much colour and make them look fake – a harshly Bright blusherdrawn brow looks worse than no brows at all.
Bright blusher
A pop of fresh colour on the cheeks looks great on every age. When skin ages, less blood flows to the surface, which means there will be less colour in the face. To counteract this, a small amount of powder blush swirled slightly higher on the apples of the cheek in a bright pink or coral instantly brightens the complexion and gives a lifted appearance. If you’re using bronzer, stick to applying it in the ‘C’ formation on either side – on the temples, along the sides of the face and right under the cheekbones – for the most flattering glow.
Lip liner
Regardless of your age, lip liner should be a key product in every woman’s beauty arsenal. It helps cheat your way to fuller pout, making it an anti-ageing essential. For lipstick that lasts, don’t draw over your natural lipline, and fill in your entire lip to create a long-lasting base. Your liner should be one shade lighter or darker than your lipstick – a wider hue too Nineties, as well as Face powderbeing extremely ageing.
Face powder
Face powder can make skin look flat and dry, which can, in turn, make you look older. This doesn’t mean to say you need to stop using it as you age. Because looking shiny is just as unappealing. You just need to know how to apply it. The key is using a small blusher brush, as opposed to using a large powder one, because it’s easier to control where the product ends up. Dust over the oily T-zone and avoid the eyes and forehead, as powder will only sit in any creases you have.
Vibrant lipstick
As we age, our lips get thinner and the shape shrinks slightly as a result. To counteract this, go for a bright lipstick to help create the illusion of a fuller lip. Red is great, but don’t go too intense with a heavy texture. Anything that’s too severe will age you, from a hairdo to a lipstick, so instead, opt for a moreWinged kohl linersheer finish.
Winged kohl liner
Sixties-inspired eyeliner is everywhere right now, but a full on, kohl-rimmed eye can make eyes look smaller and accentuate crow’s feet. Over time, the skin around our eyes starts to drop, and this will distort the shape of eyeliner, making it look wobbly and uneven. Concentrate instead on defining your lower lash line with gel eyeliner or shadow, as this will make your eyes look wider and more youthful, and line the outer three-quarters of the eye. Start with your chosen product at the outer corner and work inwards, but don’t go all the way to your inner corners as it will have the reverse effect. Opt for plums, light browns and khaki, as anything darker can be too harsh. Finally,Highlighteradd a dot of highlighter at the inner corners to open the eye even more.
Highlighter
This can stay in your make-up bag forever, as it helps to mimic the skin’s dewiness which naturally depletes with age. Apply it to the areas that don’t show signs of ageing, such as cheekbones, brow bones and the bridge of your nose, but only over a matte foundation base – its effect will be too shimmery over a tinted moisturiser or radiance-boosting foundation.
Fake eyelashes
A great fake flutter can make eyes look more youthful and awake, but heavy strip lashes can weigh lids down, causing a dropping effect that makes you look older. Opt instead for individual lashes placed on the outer corner of the eye only, and finish with a little lengthening mascara Glittery eyeshadowon top and bottom lashes. Tricky to master, but worth the effort for the instant eye-opening effect.
Glittery eyeshadow
Just because you’re no longer in your 20s doesn’t mean you’re destined to a life of sensible party make-up looks. Mature women should keep glitter or shimmer shadows in the centre of the lid to prevent sparkle reaching any fine lines or crow’s feet at the outer corners. Keep the rest of your make-up neutral and matte to avoid the disco-diva look.
Bold painted nailsBold painted nails
Neon hues and nail art may look better on the young, but a squoval manicure (where your nails are made off slightly at the corners) in an eye-popping shade works wonders on women of every age. Since nails are prone to crack, split and peel increasingly as we get older, it makes sense to hide them under a fabulously glossy polish. Orangey shades are good for minimising sallow tones in the skin, while blue-based colours can highlight skin discoloration. Opaque, pastel shades can be hard to pull off, but nearly nude and pinky corals, a vibrant red or a classic French manicure work for everyone. Just remember to use a base coat first to avoid staining the nails.

Things you didn’t know about Bollywood bigwigs!
Here, we reveal some of the strange stuff about Bollywood stars that you always wanted to know! (Last Part)
Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra
• Priyanka Chopra has a thing for sour treats. She likes Jeera Goli and Jaljeera powder and as a kid, she would sneak into the kitchen and enjoy this treat, no matter how hand her mum tried to hide it from her!
• Priyanka’s mum deserves kudos for PC’s fame. She sent passport-size pictures of Priyanka wearing a suit as an entry for the Miss India competition. Those were pictures that were meant to be sent to Australia for a scholarship exam in an engineering college! Fortunately, PC got selected for the pageant.
Farhan Akhtar and Family
Farhan Akhtar and Family
• Farhan once failed in every subject in college because he was too busy spending time with his friends rather than studying or attending classes!
• Javed Akhtar says he considers Shabana his best friend first and not even marriage could spoil that. He jokes that at times he has to be reminded that she is his wife!
• Javed Akhtar on Farhan: “So often people have told me... There is only one person in this world who is funnier than youAnil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Familyand that is your son!”
Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Family
• Anil Kapoor’s family apparently lived in Raj Kapoor’s garage when they first moved to Mumbai. Later, they shifted to a room in one of Mumbai’s middle-class suburbs.
• Anil’s dad, the late Surinder Kapoor struggled hard and finally made it as a big producer! Anil Kapoor, in fact, has even acted in cameos (like the one he did in Shakti) before he struck it big. He tried his luck in Tollywood as well and has acted in a Kannada film.
• Not many know that Ranveer Singh and Sonam and Rhea Kapoor are cousins! He is their second cousin on their maternal side (from Sunita Kapoor’s family.)
• Anil Kapoor says what he admires most about his wife Sunita is that she is a tough woman. “She canMadhuri Dixitfix anything; set anything right… she is the ultimate woman for me.”
Madhuri Dixit
• Buzz is that Madhuri Dixit used to work as a receptionist at a suburban college in Mumbai, where she was first spotted by Sooraj Baratya of Rajshri Productions, who offered her Abodh.
• Madhuri Dixit’s quirk at the height of stardom – to order lot of Chinese food while shooting (at the producers’ expense)Sri Deviand then invite her relatives to the sets to share it!
Sri Devi
• When Sridevi was just 13, she played Rajnikant’s stepmom in a Tamil film called Moondru Mudichu!
• When Mithun and Sridevi were involved, he gave her the pet name of ‘Pepsi’. This was before the soft drink came to India!

Les Miserables

Les Miserables
RELEASE DATE: January 11, 2013
DIRECTOR: Tom Hooper
CAST: Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen
RUNTIME: 2 hours 28 minutes

Jean Valjean (Jackman), imprisoned for 19 years for a minor offence, is paroled but perpetually shadowed by Inspector Javert (Crowe). When Valjean takes in the founding daughter of the tragic Fantine (Hathaway), he finds a reason to keep his freedom. The camera sweeps over gilded, bulbous warships, blasted by coastal waves, to the hundreds of miserable wretches inching one of these monsters into the dock on waterlogged ropes. Hugh Jackman, matching Jean Valjean's fabled strength, carries the plot on his shoulders. Only he and Russell Crowe's Javert remain constants through the 17 years of the film's plot, and only Valjean really grows during that time, since Javert's inflexibility is his defining trait. We first meet Valjean as a convict, making futile demands that his jailer respect him as a fellow human being only to be rebuffed by the didactic Javer. On parole he meets only rejection and prejudice, descending into animal-like desperation and spitting bitterness before a miraculous second chance sees Valjean resolve to match the faith shown in him in the film's most emotionally complex scene. As with all the film's high emotion, this is communicated entirely in song, sung live on set and with veins frequently popping from the effort.
Les Miserables
VERDICT
Like its characters, ragged around the edges, the musical film nevertheless rings with all the emotion and power and provides a new model for musicals.
