Kareena Kapoor Khan’s career has defied every Bollywood norm; despite her films being flops and her blink and miss appearances in movies that were hits, she remained the industry’s number one heroine. Luck has simultaneously favoured and not favoured Bebo. While top directors and producers have always flocked to her doorstep, the choices she has made have always been questionable. On her recent appearance on Koffee with Karan, Kareena hinted that KJo was the one who influenced her decision making process. Karan laughingly denied it but the message was clear. Was Kareena referring to the fact that she chose to do Dharma Production’s (Karan’s production house) Gori Tere Pyaar Mein instead of Ram Leela?
Her career is now teetering desperately on the fate of a sole film Singham 2 which will be more about Ajay Devgn than her and rumour has it her movie with Farhan Akhtar Bombay Samurai, is shelved too. This must be quite the blow to Bebo if it is in fact true. After all, good friend Karan’s project Shuddhi with her and Hrithik in the lead, is also buried under reams of controversy. Rumour had it that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were being considered for the movie. When questioned if this was true, KJo has denied it outright and said that he will be announcing the cast very soon; the film will be reportedly released in December 2015. Deepika Padukone, when questioned about Shuddhi, issued a statement saying she hasn’t been approached for the movie while Ranveer Singh has committed to not doing any other films till he finishes shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do. So who will in fact be in Shuddhi and where does this leave Bebo? Karan had said he it would have been unfair on his part to expect Kareena to wait around for Shuddhi’s dates to be confirmed and that he doesn’t want her to miss out on other opportunities. With only one evident movie in her kitty, doesn’t Bebo have the luxury to wait around, especially if the cast is going to be announced ‘soon’, as Karan Johar said?
Whatever the reason for her not doing Shuddhi, one thing is clear that Bebo’s choices have cost her dearly. She has made a few strange quotes regarding her spate of bad decisions like, “There is no heroine like me who has left more films than I have, and given them on a platter to everybody and said go do it. I think I am mad… I am like if I don’t want to do a film I will not do it. I would sit at home and enjoy, party and travel.” When questioned about refusing Ram Leela, Kareena issued yet another daring statement: “I am sure it interests other actors which is fine but at that moment it did not excite me.” She has even gone to say that she believes in “charity” about other actresses benefiting from her refusals (was this a jab at Deepy who has had two superhit films Chennai Express and Ram Leela because Kareena refused them first?)
If Kareena isn’t excited by films that have gone on to become superhits, our advice to the talented Mrs Kapoor Khan is the following: please sign movies that do not excite you at all Kareena because your instinct has failed you too many times. One thing we are confident about is that Bebo will be back. After all, she is too talented and sought after to not reclaim her numero uno spot

Fashion
Priyanka did this movie and even went on to win a National Award. Kareena refused it because of her alleged tight schedule and lost out on a fabulous role.
Chennai Express
We have no idea why Bebo refused this film. It even has one of her fave heroes SRK in it!

Ram Leela
Rumour has it SLB’s ‘no pregnancy clause’ in the contract had something to do with Bebo’s refusal. Others allege she doesn’t get along with Ranveer.
